Do you sell time-lapse kits?Unfortunately we don't sell equipment. The systems we use are developed in-house and require expertise to operate, therefore we provide a full service rather than purchasable items.
-
Which parts of the country do you cover? We install systems anywhere in England and Wales.
-
Is a time-lapse camera the same as CCTV?No. Time-lapse cameras take individual shots at set intervals, which are then compiled into a video. They are not suitable for security monitoring.
-
What is the best camera for a time-lapse?That depends on what you're goal is. Generally, DSLRs are the best option in terms of resolution and quality, but the standard of the lenses also has a major effect on output.
-
Can I do it myself? There's nothing stopping you from buying an off-the-shelf time-lapse camera and having a go. The major advantages of using a specialist company like us are: The systems are far superior. We can provide a fully managed service, so you don't have to worry about losing lots of footage. We can provide online access to the images (which requires not just a capable camera system but also servers and software to host the files). We have many years of experience in how to set-up, maintain and produce a time-lapse that reflects your company at its best.
-
Do you need mains power? No. Outdoors, our systems are run on solar power and indoors they are powered by batteries, which can be changed every few weeks.
-
Do you do a site survey prior to installation? We can certainly do a site visit to establish best camera positions etc (free of charge). Sometimes we're given such short notice that going to site isn't possible, in which case some photos and plan drawings usually suffice.
-
What happens if it rains?Sometimes, the rain does blow into the face of the camera and obscures the shot. There's not a lot that can be done about this, other than ensuring that you have two cameras set-up, pointing in different directions, so that at least one of them captures the crucial moments.
