Short-term time-lapse and weather

As I've mentioned before, weather (and particularly precipitation) plays a big part in the success or failure of a short-term time-lapse shoot.
A prime example of how to mitigate the detrimental effects of rain on the camera lens was at play in this video, where we filmed the landscaping of a garden for Barratt Homes over a couple of weeks.
We advised installing two cameras (the second of which you can see in the background), pointing in almost opposite directions so that, in the event of rain, at least one of them would capture some good footage.
As it turned out, it poured for most of the shoot (it was Clitheroe... in Autumn) so the only decent images were taken by the one camera. A single camera set-up may well have produced unusable results.
