Obscure time-lapse

The stereotypical time-lapse video is that of a building being erected or a bridge being constructed. Although those kind of projects do lend themselves well to the technique, we often get called upon to film more obscure jobs that you wouldn't necessarily associate with time-lapse.
Frankly, some don't suit the process - there needs to be some kind of material change (preferably over a fairly long period of time) for the outcome to be interesting. Lots of machines moving around or people milling about might seem compelling in theory but in practice, it's quite boring to watch.
This valve replacement for Welsh Water, at Talybont Reservoir, was a bit of an unknown quantity but it turned out nicely. It was good to record something that deviated from the norm and we were pleasantly surprised by the footage.
