Installing time-lapse cameras

Having a good idea of the layout of a prospective site is very important when it comes to installing time-lapse cameras.
Ideally, we would perform a site survey prior to set-up to establish camera positions, access requirements and register any potential pitfalls that might occur as the project progresses.
This isn't always possible, however, due to time constraints (sometimes we're asked to install the day after first client contact). In those instances, we request photos of the proposed set-up location and plans of the site - which are usually sufficient.
On rare occasions, we have had neither the opportunity to do a survey nor received images of the site, so the last resort is to turn up with numerous rigs/attachment options and hope for the best.
It's not really hoping for the best though because, with 18 years worth of time-lapse installations behind us, we've seen almost everything and can make a very well educated guess.
In this project, a site survey was undertaken before set-up, which allowed us to use a rig especially designed to attach to the roof of a neighbouring building, resulting in a rock solid mount and a well directed frame.
