Time-lapse preparation

We've installed time-lapse cameras in all manner of places - from the hills of Snowdonia to the forests of Scotland - and distance from home plus tricky accessibility to locations increase the importance of preparation.
When we quote for a job, an installation fee is estimated but the figure includes a lot more than merely the cost of our time on site during set-up.
We spend many hours in the lead up configuring the camera systems, cleaning the lenses and housings, testing the network, creating users on our online viewing platform and creating backup systems to take with us in case of transit issues or the like.
All this is before considering the preparation of the attachment rig(s) (which can often be pretty elaborate themselves).
So when we send a quote, there is an awful lot that goes on behind the scenes that isn't mentioned in the price but is included as standard.
A thorough approach was especially important on this 4.5 year project that we shot for Ferrovial Construction, at Heathrow, a while back. With access to the cameras being exceedingly difficult due to security and positioning, the systems needed to be incredibly reliable. They managed the entire duration without malfunction, which made our lives easier and the customer very happy.
