interior time-lapse

Interior time-lapse shoots can be tricky, not only logistically but also in terms of managing the customer's expectations.

It's often the case that there is no option to fix a camera in a permanent position for the duration of the project because the walls/ceilings are being stripped and re-plastered, meaning that anything attached will be removed at some point.

This is where weighted stands come in handy. The obvious drawback to this solution is that they will be shifted around by the workers when they're in the way and can be filming little of interest for lengthy periods.

It's best to be honest with the customer and let them know that the final result will most likely be more of a highlights reel than a start to finish piece. In our experience, this has always been more than enough for a nice marketing film or to insert into videos with other elements.

It is satisfying though, when you're able to leave a camera in the same spot for the whole job - like we did in this video for DRG Solutions, in Slough.
