Interior refurbishments time-lapse

Most of our time-lapse work is shot outdoors but we've done a fair few interior refurbishments over the years too.


Indoor jobs come with whole host of different challenges, the primary ones being:


- Space (cramped conditions)

- Camera mounting issues (you often can't attach to walls or girders because they get plastered over or removed during the construction)

- Getting in the way of site workers.


We tailor a solution to each job but frequently use weighted stands to fix the cameras to. They can be moved by the workers when required but still provide a sturdy base from which to capture the footage. 


I would always recommend multiple cameras for these occasions because the stands will inevitably be shifted to point at walls or the like. 


In the end what you're looking for is a highlights reel of the refurbishment, much like this one of Annabel's Nightclub. 8-cameras were used, over 12-months, and although not every element was recorded, there was enough good stuff to make a great time-lapse video:
